The gearbox is one of the core parts of 3 ton forklift machinery. If it can be reasonably maintained on a daily basis, it can greatly improve the overall service life of the forklift and reduce the stagnation rate. When the forklift gearbox fails, you can refer to the following maintenance methods. 

1. Forklift gearbox maintenance

Lift out the forklift engine, then take out the torque converter first, then disassemble the entire forklift gearbox, then drain the gearbox oil first, then remove the gearbox cover, remove the oil supply pump to check if there is any damage, then remove the front and rear clutch assemblies, check for damage and wear, etc., and replace new parts if they need to be replaced. Check and clean again, then install the gearbox in order, and then install it on the forklift.

1. Use a special cleaning agent to thoroughly clean the gearbox cooler and cooling oil pipe to ensure that there is no debris and the oil channel is unobstructed. After installation, check the flow pressure. Under normal circumstances, the pressure of the gearbox must reach at least 12KG. Replace the water tank cooler oil pipe if necessary;
2. Check whether the torque converter is installed in place;
3. Check whether the positioning pins and screws between the engine and the gearbox are fully installed;
4. Check whether the torque converter screws are too long and whether the machine fits tightly after the mounting bolts are tightened;
5. Check the flywheel runout (reference value: below 1.0mm);
6. Check whether the gear lever, throttle cable and vacuum pipeline are adjusted;
7. Fill the automatic transmission oil specified by the original factory (manual transmission models need to add gear oil separately), check the oil level, not too much or too little;
8. Check that the engine foot rubber is not damaged;
9. Make sure that all wire plugs and grounding wires are fully installed, and the drive shaft and half shaft are assembled according to regulations;
The gearbox is a very important part of the forklift components, which affects the safety of driving. It is recommended to repair it in time if there is a problem.

II. Forklift gearbox maintenance

1. Clean and maintain the automatic transmission. Under normal circumstances, the electric counterbalance forklift gearbox lubricating oil needs to be replaced every six months for cleaning and maintenance.
The replacement of forklift gearbox lubricating oil is different from that of engine oil. It is necessary to use automatic gearbox in-depth maintenance equipment to completely remove the old gearbox lubricating oil and other debris, because 49% of the automatic gearbox lubricating oil cannot be discharged from the automatic gearbox by using atmospheric pressure. The residual oil will gather with sludge, impurities, etc. in the valve body, hydraulic torque converter and cooling pipeline. If it is not handled cleanly, it will cause the internal oil circuit of the system to be blocked. More than 99% of automatic gearbox failures are caused by overheating and impurities in the automatic gearbox lubricating oil that has not been replaced for a long time. For the maintenance of forklift gearbox, reasonable replacement of automatic gearbox lubricating oil is the key. The forklift gearbox transmits the power of the engine through the flow of automatic gearbox lubricating oil. The automatic gearbox lubricating oil itself has the functions of lubrication, cleaning, heat dissipation, etc., to prevent the internal parts of the automatic gearbox from wear and failure.
2. Since the working temperature in the forklift gearbox is high and the parts are precisely engaged, the quality of the lubricating oil added to the forklift gearbox must be selected with high quality. And regular cleaning work. Otherwise, the aging and decay of the forklift gearbox lubricant will reduce the wear resistance of the transmission parts inside the forklift, thereby shortening the service life of the forklift gearbox;
3. Clean the sludge and impurities in the forklift gearbox regularly and then change the oil. Otherwise, it will directly affect the system oil pressure and power transmission, slow down or fail the automatic gearbox, or even cause a certain gear to fail.
