Troubleshooting Methods for Forklift Steering System Feb 26 , 2025
As an important vehicle accessory, the steering system will inevitably have some faults in daily use. It is undoubtedly a very troublesome thing to go to the maintenance station for repair every time a fault occurs. Therefore, it is very important to pay attention to self-inspection in daily use. As a forklift supplier let's take a look at the common fault analysis of the steering system of forklift accessories:
First, the composition of the vehicle steering system: the vehicle steering system consists of a steering device, a steering axle, etc.
Second, the terrain forklift steering device: It consists of a steering wheel, an upper shaft assembly, a universal joint, a lower shaft assembly, a bearing, a shaft connection ring, a lower steering bend, a steering device, a priority valve, a clamping handle, a hydraulic switch, etc. The steering wheel inclination angle can be adjusted front and back according to the needs.
Third, the steering axle: the horizontal cylinder steering system is adopted, which makes steering easier, more convenient and reliable.
Fourth, the inspection and troubleshooting methods of common faults in the steering system:
1. Oil leakage
Check: The sealing ring of the steering cylinder is damaged or the pipeline is damaged.
Troubleshooting: Replacement
Check: The sealing ring of the wheel hub bearing or the support bearing is damaged.
Troubleshooting: Replace the seal ring
2. The steering angles of the left and right drive wheels (front wheels) do not match
Check: The controller parameters are incorrect. Troubleshooting: Adjust
3. Steering operation is laborious
Check: The pressure of the diverter valve is too low. Troubleshooting: Adjust the pressure
Check: There is air in the oil circuit. Troubleshooting: Remove the air
Check: The steering gear reset fails, the positioning spring is broken or the elasticity is insufficient.
Troubleshooting: Replace the spring sheet
Check: The internal leakage of the steering cylinder is too large. Troubleshooting: Check the piston seal
4. Abnormal noise in the steering system
Check: The hydraulic oil level is too low. Troubleshooting: Add hydraulic oil
Check: The steering gear rack is damaged. Troubleshooting: Replace
Check: The support shaft is damaged. Troubleshooting: Replace
Check: Insufficient lubrication. Troubleshooting: Add lubricating grease
Check: The suction pipe or oil filter is blocked. Troubleshooting: Clean or replace
5. The steering wheel cannot turn:
Check: The oil pump is damaged or faulty. Troubleshooting: Replace
Check: The priority valve is blocked or damaged. Troubleshooting: Clean or replace
Check: The hose or joint is damaged or the pipeline is blocked. Troubleshooting: Replace or clean
