Counterbalance Forklift
How to Adjust a Forklift Forks Jul 12 , 2024
I. Adjust the load roller (bearing) of the forklift frame. Note: Standard, full free lift and full free three-stage lift fork load bearings are adjusted in the same way. The fully automatic three-stage lift fork is shown below. For fork adjustment, a mast gauge and an adapter that matches the mast gauge are required. The forklift fork must be removed from the forklift.
Ⅱ. Select the bearing from the following chart to obtain the minimum spacing between the full-length bearing and the groove. The same bearing must be used in four positions.
Mast and forklift fork bearings
Bearing size, bearing oversize diameter
Undersize: 98.5mm (3.878in)
Standard: 99.0mm (3.587in)
Oversize: 99.5mm (3.917in)
Ⅲ. Big forklift fork adjustment.

1. No spacing

2. Minimum spacing

3. Higher bearing

4. Shims

5. Screws

6. Lower bearing

7. Connecting bolts

IV. Intermediate mast.

1. Mast gauge

2. Use the gauge to find the narrowest point of the inner mast in the area where the bearings touch. Move the gauge on the mast until the narrowest point is found. Adjust the gauge until its length is the same as the narrowest point of the inner mast.

3. Mast gauge. A. Mast gauge; B. Adapter

4. Place the adapter over the gauge so that the end of the adapter touches the gauge roller. Adjust the adapter to the same size as the gauge.

V. Intermediate mast

1. Mast gauge;

2. Install enough shims that have been divided into two equal groups behind the bearing. This way, when the adapter is installed over the bearing, there is no spacing. When installing, the bearing and the narrowest point of the inner mast are close together;

3. Perform other bearing installation operations.
