The following methods can be used to solve the problem of ineffective hand brake of articulated forklift:
1. Park the forklift on a flat road, first tighten the parking brake control handle of the forklift, and then start the engine accessories of the forklift. If it can start (that is, the forklift engine is not turned off), the small rough terrain forklift can move forward or backward, indicating that the parking brake effect is poor and needs to be disassembled, inspected and adjusted.
2. For disc brakes, after tightening the control handle, if the friction plate and the brake disc are not close together, the adjustment nut on the linkage arm tie rod should be adjusted first: screw in the nut, the gap becomes smaller; on the contrary, the gap becomes larger. If it works, it means that the linkage arm is improperly adjusted. Otherwise, screw in the two adjustment screws at the upper end of the brake bracket to adjust so that the two shoes are parallel to the brake disc. If it can be close but the braking effect is poor, check whether the friction plate is oily, whether the nails are exposed, whether the friction plate is burned or broken, etc. Take corresponding measures as appropriate: such as cleaning, replacement, adjustment, etc.
3. If the problem is still not solved after the above inspection or adjustment, the working surface of the brake disc should be checked. If there are grooves due to wear, they should be polished. If it is serious, it should be replaced.
4. For drum brakes, when the operating handle is tightened, the brake shoe and the brake drum are not close together. It may be that the cable is too long or the linkage mechanism is loose. Adjustments should be made to make the handle stroke meet the requirements. As for the working condition of the brake clearance or the brake friction pad, since the parking brake is shared with the driving brake, when the driving brake effect is good, there is no need to consider the brake problem.
